Different Styles of a Tricycle - The Safest of All Kids Bicycles

A child's first bike will make some memories; why not make them great ones. The main issues with kids bicycles these days are a lot are made like toys so they tend to break like toys. To make sure you are purchasing the best of all kids bicycles, not a toy, you want to go with companies you know that produce decent products.

For the most part, your child's first bike is going to be a tricycle. This type of bike is a great first place to start. They are of a simple design, and are easy to use. They consist of three wheels and are powered by your child, by peddling the front tire or by the parents pushing it with an attached push bar.

When you are buying kids bicycles, you are going to want to do some research. There is always the old favorite kids bicycle, the radio flyer. These tricycles are still made for metal, and now they are making them out of plastic. Radio flyer even has a two in one version of their famous bicycles. This new version of the tricycle is great, you have the classic bike, but with the simple twist of a knob, you now have a classic big-wheel type bicycle.

For the kid that loves to be outside playing in the yard, some companies have introduced the off-road kids bicycle; they even have it in tricycle form. These rough and tough bikes are made to take a beating and keep on trucking. A few models come with a push bar for the parents to push their kids out of a tight jam.

The next and last real style of the tricycle is the retro style. These bicycles have all the functions and safety features of a new bike, but have the look and feel of the old time tricycle. These models are for those children who have parents that loved the old style. It is in my opinion that the people that buy this style are grandparents.

All of the above-mentioned bicycles come in a variety of different sizes. You, and the parent, can choose which size is good for your child. These kids bicycles are usually measured by front tire size; there are two popular sizes; 10" and 12" front tire size.

You can get adjustable seats, adjustable size, with or without a push bar. Whichever size style and color you choose, you cannot go wrong with a tricycle for the first of your kids bicycles.
