Just like you do with your laundry, check first the tags on the stuffed toys so that you may apply the instructions written on the tag, if any.
‧ In case you don't have a dishwasher or a washing machine, just wash the toys by hands. Here you will require warm water and soap. First soak them in warm soapy water fro a short while. Then you can use laundry detergent to clean them just like you clean your clothes. Ensure you rinse the toys thoroughly before putting them to dry.
‧ It is advisable that you sanitize the toys. You do this by spraying sanitizer on those that you are about to be cleaned and wiping it off after several minutes with either a soft piece of cloth or a towel. The sanitizer could be home-made or the commercial ones available in stores. After you are through disinfect them to kill germs.
Storing toys
For the cleaned toys to remain clean they have to be well stored. One nice way of storing them is by storing them in laundry hampers. The main advantage with laundry hampers is that they don't occupy much space hence can store toys without exerting much pressure on the rest of the room.
You can as well use the many plastic containers around the house to store the toys. These are most appropriate for the small ones that don't occupy a lot of space in the house. Another good storage container is the same cartons that the toys are bought in. If wrapped well and preserved nicely they can make very colorful storage containers.
