Common Potty Training Problems and Their Solutions

This is the easy way to solve three of the most common potty training problems in no time at all:

Potty training is super easy as long as you don't make it too difficult. That may sound like I'm trying to be funny, but truly I am not.

You see, many parents make the potty training process harder than it needs to be because they don't understand that there are simple solutions for nearly every toilet training problem.

Here are three ABC easy ways to deal with three of the most common toilet training problems.

Your toddler likes to play with their feces. Yeah, this is pretty gross, but it's not the end of the world. You child isn't trying to be disgusting; this behavior almost always stands out of curiosity. Don't make too big a deal about it because you only stoke that natural curiosity. Instead, just explain to them that it's dirty and make them sick. Tell them that their waste is not something to be played with, then drop it in the toilet and flush it. Make sure to wash all hands!

Your child is resistant when it comes to going potty. Don't let this deter you. Many parents take this as a sign that their toddler isn't quite ready to start learning to use the potty. But that's not true. All this means is that they're pushing back at something they don't really want to do. That doesn't mean they can't do. Just keep your eyes out for the signs, and make sure that when your child appears to need to urinate or have a bowel movement, you're ready to get them to the restroom ASAP! Keep them seated for a few minutes at a time and explain the purpose of elimination, along with your expectations for them.

The child stands in the corner and makes faces when they need to defecate. This is actually a great start. This behavior indicates that they are ready to use the toilet; they understand the feeling in their body when it's happening, and understand that it's a trigger for what will happen next. Use the opportunity to teach them the next step, and make sure that you get them to the restroom as soon as you see them had for their favorite corner were their face start to wrinkle!
Just about any potty training problem is easy to solve as long as you have a smart strategy ahead of time and know what to expect. Use these three simple solutions and you have a potty training toddler in no time!
