Juicing Fruits and Vegetables For Kids

Summertime is here the kids are out of school. The farmers' markets' are open and selling fresh fruits and vegetables. The colors are varied and vibrant, just perfect for drinking! This is an excellent time to teach the kids to enjoy juicing the two together, and serving them on the rocks. Juicing is a cool, refreshing, and tasty way to ensure that the kids and the whole family is getting their daily nutritional requirements of vitamins, minerals, nutrients, phytochemicals and much more.

Teaching kids to drink fruits and vegetables will probably require a lot less effort than watching them sit at the dinner table struggling to eat the last carrot on their plates. Having one glass of fresh fruit and vegetable juice a day is so quick and easy that it will allow the kids more time outside to play and soak up some vitamin D from the sun. Fresh vegetable and fruit juice cannot replace water, but it is a great way to hydrate while the kids are outside enjoying the warm weather.

Juicing is beneficial for so many reasons. Here are just a few:

For those kids who do not like to eat fruits and vegetables, juicing is an easy and effective way to give them the nourishment their bodies need. Masking the taste of the tart vegetables with naturally sweet fruits and vegetables will provide a pleasant taste kids will like.

The body quickly absorbs large amounts of nutrients from juice than from solid foods because the process of digestion necessary when you eat whole foods is bypassed
Enzymes in fresh fruits and vegetables play a vital role in converting food into body tissue and energy
Enzymes help to increase metabolism
Juicing ensures a sufficient amount of phytochemicals to help fight disease
Antioxidants are immune enhancing properties concentrated in juice.
The concentration of antioxidants in fresh juice will also combat the damaging effects of free radicals on the skin and contribute to a glowing complexion.

Remember when juicing, fiber is removed. Fiber is essential to good health so be sure to continue to encourage your kids to eat raw fruits and vegetables, legumes, and whole grains in conjunction with fresh fruits and vegetable juice to obtain the maximum nutritional value from the foods they eat.
